Set up Zynty as a solo network admin

A lean configuration for a one-person (or one-and-a-half-person) network team that doesn't need elaborate role structures.

What you'll need

  • A Zynty account with Editor or Admin role
1

Start with one collector, one workspace

A single collector easily handles a few hundred devices; there's no need to over-architect this until you actually have multiple sites.

2

Add devices as you touch them

Rather than a big-bang onboarding project, add devices to Zynty as you're already working on them, discovery scans catch the rest later.

3

Route everything to one place

Point all alerts at a single Slack channel or your personal email/phone; you don't need routing rules by team when you are the team.

4

Turn on config backup early

Even solo, automatic config backup is worth enabling from day one, it's cheap insurance against your own future mistakes.
